As advised in our eFlash #121 (3 June 2011), The Department of Environment and Resource Management will be holding a series of two-day workshops for small and medium drinking water service providers. The workshops are designed to assist with the development of Drinking Water Quality Management Plans and will provide information on the regulatory requirements and the Drinking Water Quality Management Plan Guidelines.
All CEOs of small and medium councils should have received a letter from DERM introducing this engagement program and announcing the first stages namely a “Snapshot Monitoring Program” and information sessions held at centres across the State.
Given the critical importance of drinking water quality and the upcoming requirement to have proactive Drinking Water Quality Management Plans, it is important that all small and medium providers take advantage of this engagement program.
