Consultation period open on the National Industry Guidelines for water quality metadata
Date: 29-Jun-2017

The Bureau of Meteorology has released the draft National Industry Guideline for water quality metadata for consultation and is seeking feedback.

This guideline establishes standardised water quality metadata requirements for water resource monitoring and provides a nationally consistent approach to describing relevant information associated with water quality data. The guideline is applicable to both automated continuous water quality monitoring (e.g. using in-situ sensors or probes), tests performed in the field, and grab samples sent for laboratory testing.

For more details about the consultation process and to download the draft guideline visit the Bureau of Meteorology webpages  http://www.bom.gov.au/water/standards/projects/waterqlty.shtml.

Participants in the review have until 19 September to submit their comments to WIS_Forum@bom.gov.au
