In response to requests by members, we have developed a standard policy and technical guidelines for issues relating to building (on private land) over or near to existing council water infrastrucutre.

The standard policy and technical guidelines were developed using existing industry policies (thanks to those councils who participated), as well as the latest technical and legal advice. In addition to the standard policy and associated technical guidelines, the qldwater document contains a section that describes how and why the policy and guidelines were developed and the requirements for implementing them.

Both the standard policy & technical guidelines may be implemented as is (with minor additions from councils) or can be modified to suit councils requirements.The document is available for download from the members area of the website, under downloads/standard policies.
