The Asbestos Cement Pipe Cutting and Disposal Guidelines were updated by the QWD in early 2008 to replace those originally distributed in 2005. The guidelines can be purchased from the QWD or are available online for members.

Follow this link to the 2004 Australian Drinking Water Guidelines which were developed and are frequently updated by the National Health and Medical Research Council in collaboration with the Natural Resource Management Ministerial Council. The guidelines incorporate the "Framework for the Management of Drinking Water Quality" and provide the National benchmark for the water supply industry with guidance on what constitutes good quality drinking water.

Follow this link to the Community Water Planner - A tool for small communities to develop drinking water management plans. The tool was developed by the National Health and Medical Reseasrch Council to support the implementation of the Australian Drinking Water Guidelines, Framework for Management of Drinking Water Quality management approach in small communities by assisting local drinking water managers to develop drinking water risk management plans tailored to their community.

QWD Template and guide to assist Water Service Providers produce their own System Leakage Management Plan to comply with Chapter 3 of the Water Act 2000. The Template was developed cooperatively with NR&W and is provided freely to all Water Services Providers in Queensland.

A Total Managment Plan is required to access maximum subsidies from the State (e.g. WASP and SCAP funding). NR&W have created TMP Guidelines to assist in preparing this document. The QWD recommends that members consider integrating their TMP and SAMP plans when possible and also include the Drought Management Plan and System Leakage Management Plans.
