Streamlining water reporting requirements for the efficient collection, storing and reporting of water service provider data.
SWIM (Statewide Water Information Management) was created to:
make it easier for Water Service Providers to supply water and sewerage data requested by State and Commonwealth Governments and Agencies;
improve the quality of data supplied through a number of QA/QC processes that flag potential errors at the point of data entry and before submission; and,
help Water Service Providers get the greatest value from their data.
Data was originally uploaded to SWIM via webforms and Excel spreadsheets accessed via the internet. However, all data is now imported via database software called SWIMLocal which is installed directly on Service Provider’s computers. All Queensland Water Service Providers have access to the SWIMLocal software (to enter water and sewerage data and manage most metadata) and the SWIM online metadata portal (for managing additional metadata).
