2017 SEQ urban water and sewerage service providers’ advocacy statement
Date: 10-Nov-2017

On behalf of South-East Queensland providers, qldwater has developed an Advocacy Statement to highlight a range of issues relating to Queensland state regulatory approaches, which impact providers' ability to provide affordable and sustainable services to their communities. This statement has been sent to major political parties contesting the Queensland state election, for policy consideration following the election.

The issues raised in the Advocacy Statement covered:

  1. The future of potable reuse
  2. Catchment management and Health Based Targets
  3. Private service providers
  4. Economic regulation

The list is not comprehensive, instead reflecting those issues deemed to be of highest current priority by the SEQ Partnership.

The statement will be revised on an annual basis, as priorities are addressed and new issues emerge.  qldwater has offered to meet with party representatives to progress.
